Alert Engineering was founded in 1973 by Allan Lewis as a one-man general engineering shop. With hard work and dedication to customer service, Alert has grown its skilled workforce to include in-house design engineers, CAD/CAM programmer, CNC operators, qualified and certified welders, and hydraulic service technicians.

In the early years work consisted of an industrial nature, with refuse and metal recycling equipment becoming more important as the years passes. Now 50 years on Alert Engineering is the largest manufacturer of scrap metal recycling equipment in the Southern Hemisphere, and the quality and durability is respected world-wide.
